Our History

Vine was set up in 2007 and has charitable status with charity number 1117796. The service was set up in response to the high cost of private counselling and long and limited NHS waiting lists for mental health support.

We are organisational members, and follow the ethical guidelines of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP).

Supporting Our Local Community

We are based in Congresbury, North Somerset and provide face to face support for up to 70 adults per week.

We provide services to residents within the local community, such as Congresbury, Yatton, Wrington, Winscombe, Claverham, Sandford, Langford, Nailsea, Backwell but also Clevedon, Portishead and Weston Super Mare.

Who We Are

We are a registered charity based in North Somerset offering low-cost (donation based) 1:1 counselling to adults in the community who are looking for support with issues such as anxiety, stress, bereavement, depression, bullying, trauma, loneliness, abuse or family problems.

We are on the list of approved Counsellors at many local GP Practices and other agencies who signpost to us. Our clients self-refer to our service.
We have a team of experienced qualified Counsellors and Counsellors on placement who are mainly volunteers.

We also have a Board of Trustees, a Director, an Operations Director and a dedicated team of voluntary receptionists. We operate in a welcoming, respectful and non-judgmental environment.
