We are all experiencing difficult times with the current Coronavirus pandemic. As from the end of Friday 20th March, Vine will not be able to continue to offer face to face counselling appointments. We are not, however, closing our doors and are committed to developing a telephone/video service to our existing clients initially, then new clients.
Our focus remains on our clients and the community. Our whole team are working together to set up an online service in accordance with good practice, ethics and BACP guidelines. Further information in this respect will soon be posted on the website.
In the meantime, this period of 'lockdown' can cause stress and anxiety. There are things you can do to relieve that.
1. keep in contact with people using all means possible whether it by by using the telephone, Facetime, Whatsapp, Skype video calls or even talking out of the window to neighbours. Human contact is really important. If you do not have anyone to talk to, please contact us by email and let us know.
2. try to occcupy yourself doing something other than allowing your mind to dwell on negative thoughts. Examples are:- reading a book, cooking, drawing, sewing, exercising or listening to music or a podcast or story
3. if you are not unwell, and can work from home, try to focus on doing so. It will keep your mind active and gives a sense of normality.
4. limit the amount of time you watch the news or look at it online. It is fine to obtain information but watching hours of news and discussion about the situation can cause anxiety.
5. take deep breaths, focusing on positive thoughts.
6. there are helpful online videos and websites about coping with anxiety due to the coronavirus. Choose carefully but some of these might be helpful.
It can sometimes feel like we are not doing enough but our aim is to use our resources to do as much as we can, whilst planning for the future and expansion of our service. We continue to remember that "Helping one person might not change the whole world but it could change the world for one person". Every individual matters and if you are looking for help, please do not hesitate to call us.

Please donate - We cannot rely entirely on donations from clients to fund the service we provide and, especially during this very challenging time for us all, our level of donations/grants/gifts has been greatly affected by the COVID-19 situation. We cannot currently organise any fundraising events and are asking for donations to enable us to maintain our service. If you feel you can donate, however small the amount, we would appreciate hearing from you. Or please give using http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/charities/vinecounsellingandpastoralservices
Thank you so much.
Please contact Liz Linnitt by email on email@example.com if you can help in any way mentioned above.
FANCY A CHALLENGE?!!!!!
Vine is excited to announce that Stuart Eldridge will be running this year's Virgin Money London Marathon on behalf of the charity - to raise much needed funds to expand the service! Go to https://www.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/stuartsmarathon
These times bring various pressures to charities, especially small ones. Our donations will reduce and we will not be able to organise any fundraising efforts for the time being. We are trying to maintain a service to our clients and would be so grateful for any donations, for any amount, to help us continue to run and maintain a service. If you can help, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
Setting up for the Spring Ladies Shopping Evening on Saturday 14th March. Thank you to those who came along and supported the event.
